Sick Child, Walk-in, & Emergency Visits
When your child is sick, it’s important to have reliable and accessible care. At The Purcell Clinic, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for sick children, whether through scheduled visits, our walk-in clinic, or in emergency situations. Our goal is to ensure your child receives prompt and effective treatment when they need it most.. Sick Child Visits
If your child is experiencing symptoms such as fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhea, or unusual irritability, it’s important to schedule a sick visit with us. To ensure you are able to receive the care your child needs, we offer:

​Walk-In Appointments: No need for an appointment; simply walk in between 8:00 AM - 9:00AM (Rockingham) and 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM (Laurinburg) Monday through Friday. Our walk-in clinic is designed to provide convenient care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention.

Same-Day Appointments: It is our priority to provide same-day or next-day appointments for our sick patients.

Weekend Appointments: Yes, children get sick on the weekends too. Our offices are open by appointment only for urgent sick visits by appointment every Saturday & Sunday starting at 8:00am. Our phone lines open at 7:45am to begin scheduling.

24/7 Nurse Triage Line: Our providers are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! We offer nurse triage services over the phone and will connect you with one of our providers if needed.
Emergency Care
To help you and your little one avoid the Emergency Room at all costs, our office can assist with most emergent needs. In cases of severe or life-threatening conditions, immediate emergency care is crucial. You should seek emergency care if your child experiences:

Difficulty Breathing: Severe shortness of breath, wheezing, or bluish discoloration of lips or face.

Unconsciousness or Seizures: Loss of consciousness, seizures, or significant changes in responsiveness.

Severe Injuries: Major injuries, such as fractures, head trauma, or deep wounds.

High Fever or Persistent Vomiting: Persistent fever, dehydration, or vomiting that cannot be managed at home.​

For true emergencies, proceed to the nearest emergency room or call 911. Our practice is also here to:
